21.02.2020

To kick off the Berlinale, TVNOW unveiled its upcoming German series. Among them is a production by Keshet Tresor Fiction. 'Unter Freunden stirbt man nicht' is thus the first production from the fiction department of Tresor and Keshet.
The series follows a group of older friends, played by Iris Berben, Heiner Lauterbach, Adele Neuhauser, Michael Wittenborn, and Walter Sittler. One of them is on the verge of winning the Nobel Prize when he suddenly dies. The others then decide to keep his death a secret for five days until the award ceremony, which sounds easier than it actually is, and puts their friendship to the test. Iris Berben emphasized in Berlin that she was particularly drawn to the series’ dark humor and political incorrectness. The miniseries is the first project from Keshet Tresor Fiction, with Christina Christ serving as producer, and is based on a Keshet series by Noa Yedlin. The screenplay was written by Claudius Pläging, and the series is directed by Felix Stienz.
